Ocean Luxe Love // Curl Curl

Beautiful homes are definitely a weakness for me. I went to the below home last week. The house is smart in design as well as being impeccably finished. Impeccably. Enough to take your breath away. You know when you walk away from a room and actually can't recall any of the finer details once left? I find that happens when the room is so harmonious in design that I am unable to fault it, so nothing sticks. Luckily, I pulled some pics for us all to ogle.

The house, which is in Curl Curl, is for sale through Clarke & Humel property. Auction this Saturday 21st June 2014.

Beach House Love // Newporter

My favourite beach house in Newport is for sale! I first saw it in Real Living Magazine last year and scouring the local real estate mag this weekend just gone, I saw that it is up for sale.  So, if you are in the market, get in quick. This baby won't be around long!

What I love about this house is that it has been renovated, but the owners stayed true to the home's original character. So many of these beauties are being torn down to make way for contemporary homes or mini palaces.  Long live the old girls!  They certainly don't make them like they used to.

Beach House LOVE

In doing my garden research for the cottage, I have stumbled across some drop jaw beach houses. Here is something a little special I found this week. Not sure where exactly it is. From the look of the coastline (shown in other pics from source), it is on the cliffs of the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney.

Gardens were done by William Dangar + Associates. Amazing. Enjoy.

Interior Designer // Justine Hugh-Jones

I might be a bit slow off the mark but I was introduced to Justine Hugh-Jones only recently. I missed her introduction in Est. Mag, as I was lost in newborn land but I found her thanks to a fab blog I follow, Paddo to Palmy.  Heidi has just finished renovating her terrace in Paddington and started a blog to follow the journey. The finished terrace is most certainly amazeballs!  She has also opened an online store selling stunning pieces hand picked from Morocco AND she was featured in this months Real Living Mag. Busy lady! Make sure you check her blog out.

So, back to Justine Hugh-Jones. She is based in Mosman, Sydney and her work is droooool worthy. She was also the winner of the 2013 Belle Coco Republic Interior Design Readers Choice Award and looking at some of her work, it is not hard to see why - it simply sings.

Light, textures, muted colours with subtle pops of colour. A real party of worldly designs, designers and artworks. Just gorgeous. That is one thing I really like about her; she makes up her own rules.

Amazing right. Simple and soo restrained! Most of the houses along the beach front at Clareville are holiday homes, not sure if this one is. One thing is quite obvious, they most certainly don't have kids at home!

Oh to have this kind of budget for the cottage!

On a final note, it is my birthday today! Yay! Happy Birthday to me!  We are heading down the south coast to my families holiday house for a long weekend. Cannot wait to get away. Will be the first trip to the house for little A. Can't wait to get into that water and have a paddle in the warmth of the shallows with he boys.

Be still my beating heart...

You know when you meet someone new but not in a profession setting, what that person does for a living is not always the first thing you talk about, especially when you have other things in common like new babies. So you can imagine my absolute delight when a mother from my mothers group apologised for what she called a 'shameless plug', and introduced us all to her beautiful business - Glasslands.

Boy of boy, what a beautiful sight!  You know that feeling when your heart literally stops...? Well, yep.
I have always loved indoor plants and terrariums never fail to blow me away. Terrariums are like little lost worlds beautifully captured and encased in glass.  A bit of an Alice in Wonderland - the ginormous Alice looking into a world that is beautifully formed and holds the potential for great adventure, if only she was small enough.

Glasslands create what they call "living landscapes in glass". There are terrariums and sooo much more. Just gorgeous. They are a local business run by the incredibly talented and gorgeous Fiona. I love love love the Gift Pack for Kids (the very first photo above). Can you imagine this in a little person's room! They do a little crocodile too. How amazing. I think I may have just found the finishing touch for Little A's room. Yay!

Bedroom Inspiration

So we have been in our cottage 2 years in December. Crazy how time flies! When we moved in we didn't buy any new furniture - to be honest we didn't need to. We were living in a flat, yet it was jammed packed!  Friends always teased me about having too much furniture in there.  To me, I knew that living in a flat was short term in the big scheme of things, so if I was going to spend the money on a great piece, I wanted for it to also fit in a house. So yes, our flat was squishy! ha!

So our bedroom in the cottage. I won't show you a picture because really, there is not much to show. We actually diy'd a tuffed headboard when we were in our flat which I looved.  It was in raw linen too, but when we put our life in storage while we renovated, damp invaded our belongings. Wouldn't you know it, my headboard, my shoes plus some other bits were ruined. Seriously, there was about $2,000 of shoes absolutely ruined! Yep, I did cry.

So a bed without a headboard... to me, it looks a little bare... or does it?
